The Changing Role of Game Acting

With Uncharted 3 wrapped, the actors that gave Drake and many of his co-stars life have had a chance to rest and reflect on over five years embodying the same characters.

In that time, a lot has changed. Drake has emerged as one of gaming’s most convincing protagonists, whilst mo-cap and animation technology has vastly improved its ability to record every detail of an actor’s performance.

You like pancakes?

Nathan: Welcome to Haven. You like pancakes? We got good pancakes.
Audrey: What about lobster? Isn't Maine famous for lobster?
Nathan: I don't like lobster. I really like pancakes.
Audrey: Ah, I like the truck.
Nathan: Thanks. Had it since I was 19.
Audrey: How do you keep a car that long?
Nathan: I don't drive off cliffs.

Article about Haven from Xfilesnews.com

Nice article by Holly Simon from Xfilesnews.com!

As a huge X-files fan myself, it was great to read that Sam Ernst explained, “If The Twilight Zone was the mother ship for The X-Files, The X-Files is the mother ship for Haven.”
.
.
.
Over the summer, I had the pleasure of visiting the lovely community of Chester along the South Shore of Nova Scotia, to meet up with Anne-Marie Lapointe, publicist for the show. The town is initself a beautiful yet small community.  It's hardly a big even you see the production crew shoot around town.  Yet, as I found my way to Chester that afternoon as a fan as curious as I was; we spotted a few fans ourselves on the way back to the Hockey arena.

The South Shore of Nova Scotia is a beautiful area as the scenery in Haven exhibits, and is well worth to visit.  My best friend lives in Mahone Bay, the community about 15 minutes from Chester and I was lucky enough to spend a few days there with her.  It's definitely a beautiful and pristine area of Nova Scotia.

It’s several days before the end of production and it’s a beautiful hot summer day as I pull into the local hockey arena parking lot.  As I search for an empty spot in the parking lot, I find myself pulling opposite Nathan’s ’78 Ford Bronco, a landmark in many episodes of the popular television show.  It seems I’m forever destined to be a Ford fan, after years of the Ford Taurus in The X-files, and owning one myself in the Offline world.

TV's 100 Sexiest Men of 2011

Not a surprise... Lucas Bryant made the list! He's # 72.
Although we don't agree he's number 72... as well as we don't agree Eric didn't make the list.

TV Review: Silent Night

This is the most dramatic of Syfy’s three-in-one-night Christmas specials – it is the only one that got me a little misty-eyed – but it has plenty of light moments, and even more charm, and of course, a wee bit o’ the creepy. Like the Eureka and Warehouse 13 holiday episodes that precede it, it is a standalone offering with no reference to the events of the last one or two episodes of last season. Also like the other two holiday specials, there is a Christmas celebration that has no religious undertones but is instead a celebration of the importance of friends as family.

If you’re a fan of the show: You’ll join me in being so happy to be back in our favorite weird town. We get plenty of Audrey and Nathan and Duke, as they were before the developments at the end of the last season; the same is true of our favorite brothers who run the local newspaper. Quirky townspeople. Weird troubles. Some nice, kinda cool effects. Just what you’d hope for in an episode that is meant to become a classic.

Emily Rose Dishes on the Upcoming Syfy Holiday Episode of HAVEN

Based on the season finale of HAVEN, how does the Christmas episode fit into Audrey’s life and how things were left off?

EMILY:  It’s similar . . . It’s non-linear essentially. It’s not in order. It’s an out-of-time sort of episode. Essentially some of what I’ve said before about the episode is: it’s kind of like a little gift to the fans — kind of a holdover type of intermission episode where it’s kind of just its own little gem of an episode. So if you miss the characters and you’ve missed the world, you could hop into it. But we’re really hoping that the fans know not to put it in any kind of sequential order because it won’t pay anything off or reflect on anything. We kind of took all time references out of it so it would just be its own little episode.

Interview with Lucas Bryant

How can we get you to go on Twitter?

I've been asking myself that same question. I know I just got Emily and Erica to always forward me stuff - petitions to get me on there. And apparently this morning, I was named one of Perez Hilton's sexiest men on TV. I would just like to say yes, I have been telling everyone this for years and finally it came true. I know, I've always known that the Hiltons are a big fan of mine. So that makes perfect sense.

I just hope that it's not a typo, because it's, "Lucas Bryant, one of the most sexist men on TV," that would not be good. But, so I get the Twitter feeds if you will, I get information from the Twit machine. But no I have not done it yet. And I don't know, I'm still on the fence about it, I can't tell you what it's going to be that would make me take the plunge. I'm just... ...you know, I'm like a grandma.
